After your website is listed in the search engine, the last thing that you need to do is to do some off-page optimization. Search Engines nowadays do not just look at the content of the website to see how well is it optimized. It also send spiders/crawlers to the websites that are linked to you, and websites that you linked to. In this article, I am going to uncover some techniques that are used in Off-Page Optimization.

1) Research

First of all, to understand how you can win others, you have to know how others do in order to gain some Off-Page Optimization. This is relatively easy. Following are the step-by-step instructions that you can find out how you can gain some Off-Page Optimization like others do.

A) First of all, key in the keyword in Google. With quotes or without quotes, it's up to you.

B) Next, go to the first hit that Google returns to you. Open up that link in a new window.

C) Then copy the link and open a new browser and go to Yahoo.

D) Key in "link:theurl". For example, "link:http://www.google.com"

E) Take note of those high PageRank website pages that are linked. Having 3 PR 6 website linked to your website is never better than 1 PR 7. With a PR 7 linked to your website, your website will be listed within 24hours in Google! Of course, you do not need to have a PageRank 7 to do the job. You need to get as many as possible.

F) Finally, look for other pages that can also link up your website like others.

2) Relevancy

Remember, linking is one way of gaining some place in top search engine. But they also need to be relevant. Let's say your website is a diet website. And if you link it up with a body building website, it's totally off tracked! Find websites that are relevant to your website. The best is if they have the keywords you are targeting in their website. In this way, Google will give it some points for relevancy.
